Located on the East of Scotland, St Andrews is a small town renown for its historic university and also its prestigious golf course. However, it is also home to the West and East Sands, a two mile stretch of uninterrupted sandy beach backed with dunes. It is a spectacular beach that is popular for hikers, runners as well as swimmers. About a 15 minute walk from the town centre it is an easily accessible beach with plenty of nearby amenities. It is a popular destination for tourists especially for those that love to Surf. It is recognized as one of Wales’s top surfing beaches with its notable strong waves and currents. With a tidal range of 6.5 metres (21 ft) these large waves come from northwest and southeast currents which make it a surfers paradise. Brighton Beach, Sussex

At the height of British summer the beach and the surrounding streets have party feel to them with its busy packed beach and the arcades, fun fare and roller coasters on the iconic Brighton pier! London has regular direct trains which will get you to the beach in approximately an hour!
